Class Recap - 8/24/08
Prayer Requests -
Rick Abel - Has been diagnosed with a brain tumor and is traveling to Indy this week for medical advice.
John Smith - Injured his eyes while farming and developed infections in the cornea. He'll need to have it removed and transplanted. He's also in farming and has been advised to stay away from dust for 3 months, which would be impossible.
As far as class goes, we're still trying to decide on something to begin in two weeks. We're looking at a couple of video series to do for a quarter. If you've got any ideas, let me know.

Class Recap: 7.27.08
Prayer Requests:
I missed most of this since I was greeting, but I got an email from Jeff & Maria King letting us know that Jeff's grandmother, Kathryn King, has passed away. No word yet on arrangements, and I'd imagine Steve & Dixie want to be back for the services, so please keep the entire King family in your prayers.
We will continue on in the quarterly until the end of August, now spending our time in the book of Romans, chapters 3-8. From there, it's open for discussion. There's been some talk about finding an outside teacher, and about some new material. Any ideas you have would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Class Recap: 7/20/08
There were no new prayer requests on Sunday, and last week I was gone and the class was listening to Ross Martin, so I'm not aware of anything that needs our attention.
As far as I know, John Bowers will be back next Sunday to begin teaching again!
See ya then!

Bill McVay is doing really well. Signs of his cancer are gone, and they are preparing for a bone marrow transplant soon! Yay God!
Jake Chupp is progressing very well, and his timetable to come home is July 18th. Again, Yay God!
Remember the Hunsberger family as visitation is today and with the funeral tomorrow.
Next Sunday, the 13th, the class will meet in the Youth Center to hear from Ross Martin....have a great week!

Class Recap: 6/29
Really, nothing new except the death of Travis Hunsberger, son of Steve and Ronda. Please keep Steve, Ronda, Kyle, Kelsey, and his wife Hannah in your prayers in the coming days as they plan the funeral.
Next week we'll be studying the rest of Genesis 18, if you want to read ahead.
Also, if you missed service today, you missed a doozy. The worship team had put together some songs honoring Travis this morning at the last minute, and it was most definitely a God thing. My heart was touched and He was most definitely there. Pastor Kent shared on adoption, comparing our adoption into God's family with the stories of parents in our congregation. From the sharing of Jon & Jodi Feldman's story of their daughter Lindy to the video set to Steven Curtis Chapman's song "When Love Takes You In", it was a very special day..I hope you were there!

A Note From The Chupps...
(This was on the WMC blog, and I thought I'd reprint it here so you can pray more effectively....)
A Word from Steve and Angie....
Jacob is resting and we're waiting for Dr. Boyer to sign off so that Jacob will get to be transported to Methodist Children's Hospital in Indianapolis to start his rehabilitation.
He had a restless night and keeping him comfortable kept me busy. He seems to enjoy foot-rubs and back-rubs. He has been whispering about many things.
Steve and he watched a little bit of the Celtics/Lakers game. And pretty much most of the evening he talked about his favorite baseball teams. He told me he needed to get back and start warming up.
His dad came in this morning and they were doing long division and Jake was writing the problems on a dry erase board and solving them correctly. Our God is an "Awesome God."
It's been 4 weeks and 2 days that we've been here at South Bend Memorial. I told the nurses I wish they could come with us. They've grown attached to Jacob but have encouraged us that Children's Methodist is excellent when it comes to working with kids.
Continue to keep praying as we transition to a new phase of this walk in our faith. We need specific prayers for Jacob's right eye. There has been some extensive nerve damage and he is having double vision. Also continued prayer for healing of the bladder and pelvis. He's managed to do a few laps around the nurses station in a wheel chair. He enjoy's that but it wears him out.
We also ask that you keep a little one in your prayers here at SBM. He has some stomach issues and has trouble digesting food and is not growing as he should. We have seen so much here in the PEDS ICU. I pray Jesus invades these rooms with the blessings of healing for all these little ones. There has been a baby here that has never been home. He's been here 9 months. His family faithfully comes everyday to love, hold and care for him.
I feel I need to convey to all of you who are checking the blog. Your prayers matter and have prevailed much. We have a relational God who loves to hear the prayers and praises of His people. Speaking of praise, today is the start of VBS. I'm missing all of you; sing loud and joyfully to the Lord and know that I'm praying over all of you this week as your planting the precious seeds of a forever friend in Jesus into the hearts of our young people.
We will be leaving for the Methodist Children's Hospital on Tuesday morning.
May God bless you all!
